Every month, we take one week at church where we have a fellowship-potluck meal before service. It's a blast, and this month our friends the Radtkey's hosted it at there house, with a campout to follow! Dad dislocated a rib last Saturday, so I didn't think that we would camp, but Wednesday night he announced that we were. So, yesterday became very hectic. I'll start with pictures.
Some of the kids and adults (I didn't go) went on a hike on a trail around the Radtkey's 4-acre property.

Visiting in the family foom
The Radtkey's had a really cool play area outside, and there were kids out there almost all day.

Getting chairs set up for the actual service.
Getting some food. (Sorry, I know my pictures are kind of out of order)
Mrs. Radtkey, her daughter Melissa, my friend Ashley and I all worked on serving the barbeque chicken and sloppy joes sandwiches.

I love this picture.
Love this one too :)
Ok, so Mom had us all come and try to get sibling pictures, and Jeremiah Gray was behind Mom making some really funny faces. By the time all of these attempts were done, my cheeks about fell off from laughing so hard.
I think this one is my favorite.
This is Timothy & Melonie Reeve's little baby Calvin. Isn't he just the cutest?!
After church we all went out and had a HUGE bonfire, smores and all. (Sorry, this picture is a little bit blurry)
After the smores people started getting ready to set up. There were only 2 other families camping besides us and the Radtkeys, so it didn't take too long. I would have pictures, but Mom and her camera went home for the night so Annabeth could get a good night's sleep. (by the time she left it was about 10:00, and we went to bed at 10:30) I slept terribly and was freezing because my sweater was wet, (apparently some water got poured on it accidentally) but I still had a blast.
And I think here's my new profile picture. I was sitting on the swing in their play area, watching everybody leave for a hike, and Mom just happened to catch me looking and took a picture. (she has an amazing eye for good pictures)
And, that's our weekend! We don't have church tonight because we had it last night this time, so we're just hanging out. Right now Dad's making dinner to bless Mom, and I don't know what it is, but it smells GREAT!
Well, that's all for now! I'll try and post some more later this week.
Kayla
Good, you're back. I was wondering what happened with your blog. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah... I've actually had TONS to post about, but after it happens I'm just so busy I don't have time to post, and eventually I have so many things to post about you would be sitting here for hours! So, I decided to wait until yesterday to post, and just post about the campout. (if that makes sense :) )
